If you are interested in either acquiring a house and land in Gambia or building on your own block of land, you will already know of the uniqueness of Gambia, its sunny climate, friendly locals, beautiful scenery and amazing bird and wildlife.

In an effort to help preserve this natural way of life, eekos Gambia are offering "eco homes".
These are houses that are designed and built to have minimal impact on the natural systems of Gambia.

As well as having low environmental impact in building materials and construction, they are also designed for passive temperature control and low impact energy and waste systems for low cost living. Combine this with extra design features and fruit tree landscaping and you have a permanent or holiday home with the real tropical feel!

SERVICES WE OFFER FOR YOUR TOPICAL HOUSE

Land
If you do not already have land, we can arrange for a days tour to have a look at land in various parts of Gambia to fit your budget and lifestyle requirements. The land is bought by you; we charge a fee for location and negotiation with the owner.

House
We can build a variety of homes to suit your requirements and budget. We focus on low energy, tropical designs that fit into the tropical landscape with houses starting with budget typical roundhouse through to 3/4 bedroom homes.
We favour person based design incorporating "patterns" in our design process.
We can also refurbish and add on to existing houses.

Energy
We supply and install low alternative energy systems using solar and wind energy for electricity supply and hot water supply for showers and cleaning.

Waste
We consider that "waste" is actually valuable. Composting toilets (available in flush as well as open compost) and greywater systems to water your fruit trees are low maintenance systems that turn your "waste" into a valuable commodity on your land.

Water
We can put down a bore or well and supply and install a variety of pumping systems. We can also supply and install plastic or Ferro-cement water tanks if you wish to keep pumping costs down. We also offer "water harvesting possibilities" in place of a bore if you wish.

Appliances
We can supply and install a wide range of appropriate household appliances from low energy 12 volt fridge and freezers through to bicycle powered washing machines!

Landscaping
We offer "permaculture" organic landscaping that mimics the low maintenance forest systems interspaced with a wide variety of fruit trees and food crops to give you year round organic produce.

Maintenance
We offer regular maintenance for your house as well as for the garden.

Communications
We can arrange for phone, internet access and satellite TV if you wish.
