STEPS TO A GAMBIAN ECO HOUSE
In Gambia, attempting to purchase land and arrange to build a house can be exceedingly difficult, but because of our experience and contacts, we can make it an enjoyable process.
Simply work with us to go through the following steps to your dream home;
- Decide on appropriate budget and overall type of house you want and an approximate completion date
- If you do not have land, then arrange with us to go on our land tour with experienced local to select land
- House design meeting - initially by phone or face to face. Go through various overall design options already thought of.
Introduce patterns in design and get together a list of features and patterns that are suited to the house.
- We give an estimated price and schedule for the house
- Order taken based on estimate. Deposit of up to 40% is due
- We arrange for architectural plans to be done if required and have a second meeting to arrange for design details
- 3 copies of your plans are submitted to the Physical Planning Department in Banjul for a building permit
- Construction starts
- You are kept informed of progress at all times and can be involved on site if you wish. Updates and pictures can be available on the internet if you are not in Gambia during the build
- Finances reviewed weekly or fortnightly
- Second payment made at roof level
- Third payment made on completion
- Celebration to honour house completion!
